Removalists Hughesdale to Fitzroy

Maggie had lived in her Hughesdale home for thirty years. As much as she had loved her time in this house, she had decided it was time to relocate to a retirement village in Fitzroy.  Maggie’s neighbours had used Dawson Moving & Storage when they moved in 5 years earlier, so she decided to call.

In her initial conversation with Margaret, it was established that Maggie actually required two removals!  Margaret organised an in-home inspection, on a day that suited Maggie.  Maggie was pleased that she was given a time for the inspection appointment, rather than an AM or PM timeframe.

Glen arrived for the inspection at the allocated time. During the inspection he tallied the volume of goods that Maggie had, and also noted which items were to go in the first move and which were to stay and be moved at a later date. Maggie is a retired TAFE teacher and avid seamstress, so the first removal was lots and lots of boxes!

This was what we call a decluttering move, to help prepare the old home for sale. Maggie was in a good position as she already had access to the new property so the goods were able to be delivered there.  If she hadn’t Dawson Moving & Storage would have been able to provide her with a short term storage solution.

The first removal was carried out by Nick and Antony, there were some issues on the day, with a burst water main in the retirement village. Maggie was very impressed with how the guys maintained their professionalism and composure, and worked around the plumbers dealing with the burst water main in the narrow retirement village street.

Maggie was able to sell the house quite quickly, and booked in her second removal. She also requested that Nick and Antony be the removalists for the final move.
